Treagan's Valentine Kiss. . .

I am sure my mom will absolutely murder me when she sees that I am posting this for the world to see!  Haha, but it's just so hilarious that we have to document it.  Last night she came over to watch Trey for the afternoon/evening so Kelly and I could do our Valentine's date (which I will post about later).  Anyway, she is just the best and we are so blessed that she is always so willing to take care of the little dude for us.  Well, here's the story. . .  Poor Grammy wasn't feeling very good and was super tired.  So she laid down on the couch next to Trey and started feeding him a bottle.  It didn't take long before she was snoozin away.  She said she remembered sort of feeling two little slimy hands on both sides of her face, but she just kept sleeping.  Then all of a sudden she thought,  "What on earth is on my face!?"  She could feel something on her nose, but wasn't totally with it quite yet.  So she woke up and realized it was Treagan latched onto her face sucking away!  HAHAHAHA!  SO FUNNY.  She just laughed it off until she realized about a half an hour later that her nose was still kind of throbbing.  So she went and looked in the bathroom mirror and this is what she saw. . . A BIG HICKEY from her Valentine.  PS- the pic does not do his work justice!  It looks a lot better in person!

Happy Valentine's Day Grammy!!!  Love, Baby Trey

A few pictures. . .

Lately Treagan has been waking up at 4 am to eat. . . I am guessing he is either teething or just going through a growth spurt or something.  I hope there's an excuse for it and it's not just a new bad habit!  I'm guessing my body has readjusted to waking up about then to feed him because like clock work this morning at 4 am on the dot. . . here I am, wide awake.  I knew any minute Trey would be waking up so I didn't want to go back to sleep.  So I layed there.  And layed there.  And layed there.  OF COURSE!  Haha. . . the one morning I am up and ready and WAITING to feed him and he is sleepin soundly.  Oh all I can do is laugh.  So now I am wide awake.  What better thing to do than blog at now 5 am?  So I thought I'd post a few recent pics from my phone, mostly for our family out of town who don't get to see this sweet boy.

Together Forever... And so grateful!

Last Sunday in Relief Society one of the cute single sisters from the ward got up and shared a few personal things with us.  It sort of broke my heart listening to her talk about how much she longed for her own family.  She hoped and wished so much for a husband and to have children, and so far the opportunity hasn't presented itself to her.  As I sat there holding my wiggly tiny guy on my lap feeling a little bit flustered that I couldn't pay better attention to the lesson, and that I had to get up to change his diaper 3 TIMES just in that hour. . . I suddenly felt guilty for feeling a little bit frazzled.  I know it's normal (and okay) to get stressed being a new mom, as it really is a HUGE responsibility and adjustment, but I just hope little Treagan knows how much I really do love him.  And how grateful I am that he is mine. . . FOREVER.   Same with my sweet hub.  He works so hard for our little family and we are just so lucky to have him.  I remember clearly what it felt like when I got a very small taste of what this sister is going through.   I remember wondering if I'd ever find a husband.  I remember aching to have a baby a little bit sooner than we were able to.  I don't know why I only had to go through these little trials for a short time, or why others have to suffer through them so much longer.  But I am just so grateful for all that I have in my life.  Another thing recently that has made me want to hold my little one a little tighter is that now that I am home more often I watch the news and hear of all the awful things that happen to kids around the world.  For instance the Josh Powell thing.  Seriously, so so sad.  I just can't even imagine how difficult it'd be to lose something that is your everything.

So even though this past week Trey has been quite a bit more fussy than usual, kind of a little monster when it comes to sleep, and he isn't really liking solids quite as much as he was. . . (All very frustrating things to a new mama) I am just going to enjoy every minute that I have with him!  And really sometimes he's good at making me feel incompetent as his mother.  And sheesh that causes me major anxiety, but I am really going to try not to let the small things get to me!  Anyway, I love my little family so much and am soo grateful for all that we have!  Just had to share it.

If the second half is as good as the first half. . .

Big boy waiting for his shots!
6 MONTHS!!!

I can not believe our boy is HALF A YEAR OLD!!! It's just going by way too fast, and if the second half is as good as the first, we are in for a treat! We are loving every second with this little guy.  We went to his 6 month well check, and he did great.  He was happy and smiley the whole time and actually did better for his shots this time.  He definitely wailed, but once we cuddled with him for a bit, he was fine.  We gave him some Advil a couple times and then he was over it.  Here are his stats:

Length: 27 1/4"  78%
Weight:  16 lbs. 13 oz.  37%
Head Circ:  43 1/2 cm  41%

Couldn't be more perfect!  We totally love this stage.  He just gets more and more fun to be with.  His little nose wrinkles when he smiles, and that dimple in his cheek is to die for.  He has been trying all sorts of new things this past month, and for the most part has done great!  He still loves to be nursed or have a bottle every 3 hours, but doesn't mind the additional meals in between.  He must be ours. . . He LOVES to eat!  So far sweet potatoes, squash, and bananas are his favorites, but he hasn't really refused anything.  We've also tried apples and pears but sometimes I think they are too sour for him.  He still needs rice in his bottles to help with his reflux (which has made a HUGE difference), but he doesn't really like to eat rice or oatmeal from the bowl.  He is so super wiggly all the time, and I think he's going to be mobile before we know it.  He already tries to scoot around and will get on all fours and put his little bum in the air like he is trying to crawl!  YIKES.  He can sit on his own without falling most of the time, but occasionally will take a face plant if we don't catch him quick enough.

Daddy found this cartoon for Trey. . . It's called Little Red.  He loves it!

Everyday life
I think one of his favorite things to do lately is chase poor little Holly around. He thinks it's just hilarious. I will hold him with his feet on the ground and he will bounce and kick his crazy legs like he is jumping and running, and we chase the dog all over the place. Holly loves it too and is such a good sport. It definitely cracks Treagan up.

He is still Mr. Gummers.  No teeth yet, but he is super drooly.  Every time he seems a little fussy I think one must be popping through, but still nothin.  Which is totally fine with me!  I love his gummy smile so much!

He is still sleeping through the night (most nights).  He usually will go 10-11 hours without a peep!  Sometimes he wakes up an hour or so after he goes down and cries. . . It's so hard not to rush in there and scoop him up!  I really think he just misses us.  Trey doesn't know this, but Mommy and Daddy are always right on the other side of his door listening to his cries, trying so hard not to go in there.  But he usually soothes himself back to sleep and goes the rest of the night through.  Or sometimes he just needs to be flipped back over or resituated.  I love it when he wakes up in the morning and eats, and then goes back down so I can sleep in, but usually once I go in there, he's so happy to be up that he wants to play instead of go back down.  So we bring him in our bed and watch the Today show until Kelly has to get up and get ready for work.  He is still not the best napper in the world, but I guess I should just be grateful he does so well at night!  And maybe we should take it as a compliment that we are just so fun to be around during the day, that he doesn't want to go without us very long!!!

He has been making this face a ton lately!  So cute.

Just pictures

I was laying in bed this morning waiting for baby boy to wake up (yes I just said that... He's been a rock star with the whole sleeping thing lately.) Anyway, I was missing my little Treagan so I started looking through a bunch of pictures of him on my phone, and now I just have to post a bunch of them. . .Just too cute to not share! OHHHH, we love him!
