A Little Bit of This... And a Little Bit of That

I feel like I have lots to catch up on, and am totally overwhelmed by it!  This post is gonna take me a while to finish I just know it. Well I guess first, we can talk about Christmas!  We spent our Christmas up in Idaho this year, and we had a blast.  It was so fun to hang with the Behunin side for several days, and it was especially sweet because it had been so long since they had all seen Trey.  Treagan did so great with all of the traveling and with being flexible with his schedule.  He was such a happy boy, and totally loved being there!  He even helped open a few of his presents.  It was just so much fun!  He of course was spoiled by Grandma and Grampy B, as we all were!  And then we got spoiled again when we passed through Salt Lake to see my fam for a few hours on our way back home.  We are so lucky to have such wonderful families!  Kelly and I decided we had two favorite parts about Christmas in Idaho. First, was the GREAT NEWS we got from Penny and Jared.  They are havin a baby this summer and we couldn't be more excited!  I wish I had taken a picture of the cute shirt they made for Nate to wear to announce it to everyone.  But I was just so excited I forgot all about my camera.  Anyway, July 1st can't come quick enough!  And second fave, was the Nativty Scene we did as a family on Christmas Eve.  Treagan starred as Baby Jesus and he couldn't have been more perfect for the part!  We all had so much fun dressing up. I am pretty sure it was a hit, and will become a new tradition!

Looking at all of his new toys.  He's such a little spoiled spot!
We made these table place holders for everyone for Christmas dinner, they turned out cute.

Another thing we should definitely talk about is that Treagan O is 5 months old!  Dang it.  How does this happen so fast?  Oh man, he just gets cuter and cuter with each passing day.  He still loves sucking on his fingers (his whole fist for that matter), and he drools and spits up constantly.  Speaking of spitting up. . . His reflux has been getting worse and worse, even with him on the Prevacid.  Poor boy.  So Dr Johnson thought we should have his tummy checked.  So he sent us in for an upper GI.  The sweet little dude did so well with it.  I think the hardest part was making him fast and go without food for so long.  But he really did great and the doctors were shocked to have a baby smile through the whole procedure.  They had warned me that he would scream through the whole thing.  Anyway, he did so good, and we of course were so proud.  We were relieved when we got the results that everything anatomically was okay.  He just has really bad reflux so we have been told that mroe solid food will help.  Yay!  And they say it will help him to get bottles with rice cereal in them as much as possible so I think I might slowly start to transition from nursing him to that.  We'll see. . . He is now learning to play around in his Baby Einstein Entertainment Center, but his little feet don't quite touch the ground yet.  He's still been eating rice cereal every night, and we are starting to introduce him to some real food.  Sweet potatoes was first on the menu and he gobbled it right up.  Such a little piggy.  He still needs to learn how to swallow a little better, but he's catching on quick!  He still does great with his bedtime routine.  He always goes right down to sleep anytime in between 730 and 830 usually, whenever I can get around to it.  And he never puts up a fuss.  He loves tubby time, jammies, family prayer, and then being nursed til he's full.  Then he goes straight to sleep.  Such a sweet boy.  He laughs more and more each day and is getting very close to being able to sit up all by himself.  He also has learned to roll both ways!  He's a little rolley polley so we for sure gotta keep our eyes on him at all times these days!  He's just so much fun and we are having a blast raising him.  Oh we love him SO MUCH!
We took him into my work to weigh in this week and he is ALMOST 16 lbs!

15 lbs. 14 oz. of pure joy

Well. . . Happy New Year!  I can not even believe that 2012 is here.  To bring in the New Year, we had a big surprise party for my Mama.  I am so shocked that we were able to pull it off.  Thanks to everyone who helped, and who came to support her!  She's definitely been through it the last couple years, and we decided it was time to celebrate!  So we called it "Melissa's New Year," with the hopes that this new year will be a good one for her.  She definitely deserves it.  Anyway, here's a few pics we got of the night.  SO.MUCH.FUN!!!

The Caterer was awesome!  Chicken Florentine and Baked Ziti with Sausage. . . DE-LISH.

Christmas Card

This is my lazy (and cheap) way of doing a Christmas card this year.  I'm ridiculous.  I know.
Click on the card and I think it will get bigger.

Well let's see. . . This is my very first time writing a Christmas card.  This was always my mom's job, so I don't feel like I really know how.  But I guess now that I'm a wife and a mom, I should probably learn eh?!  Like I said, I am a wife and a mom.  A wife to the most amazing husband there ever was.  And a mom to the best baby boy there ever was!  This year, (August 2nd to be exact) our family welcomed it's newest member to the bunch.  Treagan O Behunin.  We are learning with each passing day that he has indeed changed our lives forever!  In the best way possible of course. . .  With a new baby comes all sorts of things we never imagined. . . More sleep lost, more money spent on diapers, and more batches of laundy than we ever knew could exist!  But with this sweet little bundle has come more love and joy than we ever knew existed as well.  He's a strong, healthy boy and we couldn't feel more blessed to be the ones who get to be his earthly parents.  He truly is a little angel and we love him so much.  Besides the center of our lives right now being little Trey, we are also very busy with many other things!   Kelly is still serving as the Elders Quorum President.  He's done an awesome job, and I think he better slow down on his cool-ness or he might land himself a spot as Bishop!  He's also still with Fidelity and recently switched teams from College Planning to Investment Solutions.  He's currently studying his little self to death to become a CFP.  Okay that's about all I know about Investment talk and Kelly's job.  I've been with this man about 3 years now and still couldn't tell ya exactly what he does all day at work.  All that finance talk, I'm afraid, is way over my head.  As for me. . . just adjusting to the life of being a mommy and couldn't be happier!  It definitely is the job I always dreamed of having.  I guess I better admit that somedays, when we aren't as patient, we are guilty of entertaining the idea of putting Treagan up for sale on Ebay!  But seriously we love him so crazy much and are so grateful he's ours!   Holly Jo (the dog) has done a great job with all the adjustments this year as well.  She loves her little buddy so much and doesn't leave his side all day long.  She is so sweet to her baby brother and would kiss on his toes all day long if we let her.  We have so much to be thankful for.  We are grateful for this time of year and the chance it gives us to celebrate the birth of our Savior.  He is the center of our crazy lives and brings a calmness and peace into our busy home.  We are thankful for each of our sweet families and all of our dear friends.  We hope 2012 is every bit as wonderful as 2011 was!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Love, The Behunin Bunch

Our little 4 monther...

Sweet Baby Trey is already 4 months old.  We can't even stand it. He is just so much fun and we are so grateful to have been blessed with him in our lives!  We went to his Dr apt and the big boy's stats are:

Weight: 14 lbs. 11 oz.  (43%)
Length:  25 1/4 "  (61%)
Head Circ:  42 cm (38%)

We couldn't be more proud.  He was a little more sad for his shots this time, but he still did good.  We started rice cereal this week and it's so fun!  He does pretty well with it, and it's made a huge difference for his sleep...  Which of course makes Mommy very happy.  He eats and goes down by like 830 every night and has been going all the way til 5 or 6 most mornings.  Then I nurse him, and he goes back down for at least another hour or 2.  Such a good boy.  These days he's cooing and squealing non stop and it's the most adorable thing ever. He sounds just like a little bird, and with his fluffy hair he looks like one too!  He definitely recognizes Mommy and Daddy these days and always greets Daddy with a smile that lights up his whole face when Dad finally gets home from work everyday.  Those two have the cutest little relationship already.  He loves sticking just about anything in his mouth, especially his two fingers on his left hand!  They are always soaking wet with slobber and turn purple because he sucks so hard.  When we try and pull his hand away from his face he kicks his arms and legs really fast, smiles, and then puts the hand back where he thinks it belongs.  It's just hilarious.  He still loves bath tubby time and does great for the bed time routine. He would nurse all day if I let him.  I think it'll be good when he can start baby food too.  The little dude is always starving and Mom has a hard time keeping up with his appetite!  He's just started rolling over.  He still doesn't love his tummy so he's better at rolling from back to front rather than most babies who do tummy to back.  Silly guy.  Also new recently (as in last night was our first attempt) is that we are trying to wean him from the swaddle.  He still loves to be swaddled.  It just worries us because he's starting to move around so much at night so when we go in there he's all tangled in his blankies.  Scares me to death obviously.  So I think it's about time we make him grow up a little.  No more baby burrito.  Anyway, we just couldn't love a little baby more!  Everyday brings more joy and love.  We are looking forward to spending Christmas with him this year.  Happy 4 months Treagan O!
There's a glare on the ounces but it said 11 lbs 14 oz!
First rice cereal attempt.  He was so confused.  Didn't cry at all though.
We are so messy with the cereal!  He laps it up from the spoon like a puppy.
This is what he does all day
Just like his Daddy. . . He looks so handsome in his church clothes!

Such a good Turkey Day!

Family = Happy!
Gammy and her 2 loves.
We were having so much fun hanging out together, we may have forgotten about the 2nd batch of rolls!
Thanksgiving morning and of course. . . the boys watchin football.
Gobble Gobble Gobble!!!  Always eating his hands.
Cutest little turkey bums
Just sittin around the table
Alright mom, put my pants back on!
All that eating gets exhausting!  NAP TIME!
We had such a great Thanksgiving this year. It was the first time in a couple years that we have spent it at home with my fam. It was wonderful though! My mom of course slaved away for days preparing for it and the whole thing was gone before we could even take a picture of the beautiful dinner! We had so much fun though. After din, we all sat around the table and played a little Thanksgiving game. We took turns drawing cards that had you share something you were thankful for, something you admired about the person to your left, something unusual you did this year, etc. Sounds cheesy I'm sure, but it was so fun and really brought the true feeling of gratitude to the table this year. It was especially fun to hear my big, tough brothers and what they were grateful for! After that we of course watched some football and played more games!!! Games are my very favorite thing to do with my family. This year's Thanksgiving was also especially wonderful to me because of the new love I have in my life. Sweet Baby Trey. He is such a blessing in all of our lives and we could not have asked for more in a little buddy. He has the best little personality and the cutest little face. He can put a smile on just about anybody's face at anytime. We love him so much. Thankful for him, the Gospel of course, and each of our families. We missed the Behunin side this year, but are looking forward to venturing up to Idaho Falls for Christmas this year! Happy Holidays! I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR! Now bring on the Christmas music!
